Make it so that workflows can reset the number of Pastoral Notes
We use Pastoral notes (Orah Points) to reward students when they do something good. When they receive 5 commendations, they receive a prize from the Prize box, we would like to be able to use work flow to notify students when they’ve received a prize, but currently there is no way to do that beyond their original 5 Orah points. Meaning, if we use the workflow, it sends them the notification every time the get a commendation after 5.

Ability to do a database rollover
Similar to systems like Veracross, we would like for the ability to do a similar sort of rollover in Orah. Basically, we have a lot of alerts and insight dashboards that filter on grading periods. It would be great if there could be a central place where we could include our grading periods, and then have the alerts and dashboards update automatically.

Single click button to email all contacts of a boarder
It would be nice to have a button at the top of https://app.orah.com/staff/student-profile/ /contacts so we instead of having to copy-paste email addresses out, we can instantly generate a draft email similar to mailto: function to a boarder’s contacts

New Class Attendance Policies
Let schools define their own late and absent thresholds for class attendance, so that when a pass overlaps a class the resulting status matches the school's written policy. Thresholds should be settable in minutes or as a percentage of class time missed, configurable by year level, with a preview showing the outcome before saving.

Broadcast Templates
Hi! Right now when a new broadcast is created, recipients and filters, channels, and the message title and body (all settings), must be inputted from scratch every time. We’d like the ability to create templates that contain pre-written and configured settings. This way, when our staff has to send out notifications of the type, they can start from a template and then make modifications as needed. This would significantly speed up our process for sending out notifications. Alternatively, the option to be able to duplicate an already sent message (pre-populate the new broadcast form using the existing message) would go a long way.

Create different types of gating
We would like a way to create different kinds of gating - for example a student who is gated at level 1 can still make passes to go out with their parent or guardian or walk off campus but can’t take an uber somewhere.

More easily add ad-hoc endorsers
When a student is selecting from the list of ad-hoc endorsers it is sorted by first name - some students do not know their teacher’s first name, making it difficult to find the appropriate staff. It would be great to allow them to sort by last name and/or to search the list from the student app.

Login change - skip approval for SSO logins
We have Google SSO and Blackbaud ID SSO available for all users. When we provision new users, or change the login method, the users have to approve the change. Unless there’s a security reason to do this, please consider not requiring user confirmation. They should still get a “Your login method was changed from X to Y” email - but they should be able to just use Orah with the new login method. This was our biggest pain point for user adoption - many students and parents ignored the email, and were unable to use Orah. We then had to re-activate them, and walk them through accepting and signing in - usually while there were dozens of other students waiting in queue.

Improve audit logs and student messaging for deleted passes
When investigating a missing student pass, administrators need a quicker and clearer way to determine what happened. Currently, deleted passes can be identified through the Audit Log, but the workflow could be improved to make investigations easier and provide clearer feedback to students. Suggested improvements: Include the student’s name in Audit Log entries and allow searching by student name. Allow student searches to surface related pass activity, including deleted passes. Use customer-facing terminology such as “Pass” instead of “Leave Record” where appropriate. When a student opens a deleted pass, display a clear message (for example, “This pass has been deleted and is no longer available.”) instead of a generic error. Provide a simple way for users to report unexpected errors directly from the app. These changes would make it much easier for schools to investigate pass history and reduce confusion for both staff and students.
