Always Know Which Rules a Pass Is Running On

The Snapshot
Orah now makes it clear when a pass is running on earlier settings — and reminds you when your pass type updates won't affect passes already in the system. No more guessing why an older pass looks different from a new one.

What's New
When you update a pass type's settings and save, a prompt will confirm that your changes apply to new passes only. Passes already in the system — whether requested, scheduled, or active — will keep running exactly as they were set up.

When you open the details of a pass that was created before a recent settings change, you'll now see a clear indicator right inside the pass. Tap it to expand a side-by-side view showing exactly how this pass differs from passes created today.

Why It Matters
Pass types get updated over time — approval rules change, activation windows shift, automations get refined. Until now, there was no way to tell at a glance whether an older pass was following the current setup or an earlier one. That gap led to a lot of unnecessary confusion. Now the answer is right there in the pass itself, and admins get a clear heads-up every time they save a change.

Next Steps

  1. Go to Admin Console > Passes/Excuse and open any pass type

  2. Make a change to the rules and hit Save — look out for the confirmation prompt

  3. To see the pass-level indicator, open any pass that was created before your most recent settings update

  4. Tap the alert inside the pass details to expand the comparison view

As always, reach out to your CSM if you have any questions.
