Hall Pass Scanning Stays Open All Class

The Snapshot

The hall pass scanner on the automated attendance kiosk now stays open for the entire class. Teachers can submit the roll whenever they're ready, and students can still scan out for a hall pass.

What's New

Hall pass creation at automated attendance kiosks no longer depends on the roll being open. Whether the roll is still open or has already been completed, the scanner is available from the start of class until the end. Teachers follow their usual routine, and the kiosk keeps working in the background.

Why It Matters

Teachers can wrap up attendance at the start of class without worrying about what it means for hall passes later on. Your roll process stays exactly as your school intends, and students can still head out when they need to. One less thing for teachers to remember mid-lesson.

Next Steps

  1. Update the kiosk app to the latest version: Android 1.0.32 or iOS 1.0.46

  2. Complete the roll as usual

  3. Scan a student card at the kiosk to create a hall pass, even after the roll is complete
