The reason list in the Families app now shows descriptions only — "Excused" and "Unexcused" labels no longer appear for parents when selecting a reason for a pass. Simpler and less confusing.

What's New

When parents open the reason dropdown in the Families app, they see only the descriptive reason text — for example, "Late due to Traffic" — without any attendance status labels. This applies to the dropdown list, the selected reason display, and search results within the dropdown. The reason options themselves are unchanged. Staff and administrators continue to see the Excused and Unexcused labels as before.

Why It Matters

Attendance status labels are internal classifications that mean more to staff than to families. Removing them from the parent view keeps the pass submission experience focused and straightforward — parents choose the reason that fits, without being distracted by internal terminology.
