Currently the check-in process with QR code and/or barcode or even RFID requires another tap on the screen, it should be a straight forward scan qr code and checkin and scan qr code checkout

Our Security System allows API access to its data. If I could connect Orah to that data, a student’s location could be updated in Orah based on the door they just accessed. We use Verkada as our Security System, with a fully web-based dashboard.

Currently, we can send broadcast messages to students through the App but we cannot send broadcast messages to parents or other staff unless we are at our computer. This would be very helpful.

Ability to set the time frame for attendance alerts based on the school year and terms. Also, using a % threshold within that timeframe instead of a count. E.g. % absent in a term.

Currently there is no label pass option for kiosk check ins. We need the ability to print a physical pass to be given to teachers when students check in at the kiosk. This will help minimize classroom disruptions while teachers pause to check their Orah roll.

When teachers take attendance from the Homeboard schedule view (the panel that opens when clicking a class), students are always listed alphabetically by first name. There is no option to change this to last name. Most schools organise their class lists, paper rolls, and reports by surname. Having the attendance panel sort by first name forces teachers to work against that convention every single roll call, which slows them down and increases the risk of marking the wrong student. The fix would be to either respect the existing Homeboard sort setting (which already supports last name), or add a dedicated sort option to the schedule attendance panel itself.

I created a House for AOD Reports and added just those people who need to see that report, but it requires changing the “Post to” in the Activity Feed from All Posts to this AOD Report house so that only those who should get that report do instead of everyone who has access to viewing all posts in the Activity Feed. Make it a mandatory field before posting so the user must select a location.

Currently if a school initiates a pass, it completely skips the Parent endorsement process. Reach had a functionality where staff or student initiated passes would have either been finally approved by parents or endorsed by parents. We want a pass to be initiated by students and parents to be final endorsers or if a staff initiates a pass, it should add parents as endorsers before it goes active.

Right now all attendance pulls into the attendance insights dashboard, including academic, advisory, athletics, activity (etc). We need to be able to isolate certain group types only on the dashboard.

Currently, Blackbaud allows teachers to see their schedule for the entire year but Orah is limited to 14 days. It would be helpful for teachers to be able to see a larger window into the future for planning purposes (either 30 days or an entire term). This would allow teachers to schedule tests while taking into account which days to avoid as many students are expected to be absent due to athletic dismissals.

We would like students to be able to activate a late pass or early dismissal pass request that requires parent approval before being scheduled. Students do not have their cell phones at school so they can’t use the mobile app.

Until detailed Day School settings exist, please add daily “Start Time” and “End Time”. Day schools don’t need to see 24 hours like this, and we have to scroll or look at tiny text. There are some clever design workarounds, but this would make our lives easier.

Our alerts are getting unruly, and we need better ways to sort and filter them. I propose tags or folders or categories so we can group them. We need to filter them by division, grade, recipient, alert type, etc. It would also be helpful to have a title and description, so we’d know what the alert is for. Even though we can see the details now, there’s too much information to skim through all of the alerts.

The Attendance Team would like to receive a notification whenever a teacher edits a pass so we know when attendance may need to be updated. Teachers sometimes edit passes by mistake, and because we cannot disable the ability for teachers to edit passes, we need a way to know when a change has been made. This notification would allow us to quickly identify and correct any attendance errors resulting from an accidental edit.
