New Class Attendance Policies

Let schools define their own late and absent thresholds for class attendance, so that when a pass overlaps a class the resulting status matches the school's written policy. Thresholds should be settable in minutes or as a percentage of class time missed, configurable by year level, with a preview showing the outcome before saving.

What problem would this new feature help your school solve?
When a student pass overlaps a class, every school draws the line differently on what counts as late versus absent — but there's no way to set that line ourselves. We need to define our own late and absent thresholds, in minutes or as a percentage of class time missed, and vary them by year level.
How often does this problem happen?
Daily
Describe the impact on your school if this problem remains unsolved?
Attendance records don't match our written attendance policy, so staff correct them by hand every day. That's wasted teacher time, inconsistent records across year levels, and inaccurate data flowing to our student information system — which then surfaces in reports to families and in compliance reporting.
Please list any other tools or platforms that you know of that offer similar functionality.
Most student information systems allow a single school-wide tardy threshold, but none we've seen let you set separate late and absent thresholds, base absence on a percentage of class time missed, or vary the rules by year level.
