Open API - Create Roll Record

Hi! We’re looking to be able to mark the attendance of a student during a roll through the Open API. Essentially this would require the following internal endpoints that are currently used in the web UI to be available:

  • v1/attendance/live/roll-record/{roll-id}

    • Used to create a roll record/update the attendance of a student in a roll

  • 1/staff-api/group/for-group-roll-record-view

    • Used to fetch all rolls, their status, and available roll states

What problem would this new feature help your school solve?
Right now we have an in-house automated attendance solution which uses our access control system to mark students as present and tardy. We're currently working on making this integrate with Orah

Describe the impact on your school if this problem remains unsolved?
High impact as this is our main method of handling attendance for middle school students (we're a k-8 school). If this remains unsolved, we'll have to resort to using Orah's internal API endpoints which could cause issues later down the road for us if they change (most likely and very fairly without notice).
Please list any other tools or platforms that you know of that offer similar functionality.
