Sports Dismissals & Tardies

We have instances where students have a sports dismissal during their last period (usually within the last 10-15 minutes of class). However, some of these students are also arriving late to the same class. Currently, because the student has an excused "Sports Dismissal" on their record for that period, we are unable to add a "Tardy" for the start of class. Is there a way to allow for these dual statuses? Sports Dismissals are categorized as Not Expected. Same for Early Dismissal. Both of these excuse types do not allow for the simultaneous recording of attendance changes. Say, the student has a sports dismissal AND, they were also late for that class at the end of the day.
