Every attendance reason now carries two Student Information System codes — one for a late arrival, one for a full absence. When a pass overlaps a class, Orah works out how much of the class was missed and sends the matching code on its own.
Each reason in Attendance Settings now has a Late SIS Reason and an Absent SIS Reason. Orah compares the pass against the class and your threshold rules: miss part of the class and the late code goes across, miss the whole thing and the absent code does. The Reasons tab is reorganised too — Setup & Mapping, Pass Assignments and Roll Code Assignments each get their own space, and reasons sit in Late, Absent and Other groups you can drag between.
A student who steps out for ten minutes of a doctor's appointment and a student who misses the whole period are two different records — and now your SIS sees them that way. Nobody has to pick the right code when the pass is created, or tidy it up afterwards. Your attendance reporting and compliance figures line up with what actually happened in the classroom.
Go to Attendance → Attendance Settings → Reasons
Open Setup & Mapping to see the Late and Absent SIS columns
Review each reason — both columns start with your existing code, so update at least one per reason
Choose from your SIS-sourced reasons in each column, then save
Drag reasons between the Late, Absent and Other groups if you'd like them arranged differently
