New Feature

SSO for Blackbaud & Veracross

What's New

We're excited to announce Single Sign-On (SSO) support for Blackbaud ID and Veracross, allowing your staff to securely access Orah using their existing school credentials.

With this update, schools using Blackbaud or Veracross as their Student Information System can now enable seamless authentication, reducing password fatigue and centralizing access control through your existing identity provider.

Key Benefits

Enhanced Security: Leverage your school's existing security policies, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) and session controls

Simplified Access: Staff can use their familiar Blackbaud or Veracross credentials to log in to Orah

Centralized Management: IT administrators can manage user access from a single location, with automatic provisioning and deprovisioning

Flexible Enforcement: Choose to make SSO optional or enforce it for specific staff cohorts or school-wide

How It Works

Blackbaud ID: Uses a secure token-based authentication flow that integrates directly with your Blackbaud environment

Veracross: Leverages OpenID Connect (OIDC) protocol for modern, standards-based authentication

Both integrations include identity linking to ensure staff accounts remain connected to the correct user, even when details like email addresses change.

Getting Started

IT administrators can configure SSO in just a few steps:

  1. Navigate to Admin Console > Authentication in Orah

  2. Create a new SSO profile and select your identity provider

  3. Follow the step-by-step setup guide to complete the integration

  4. Test the connection and enable for your staff
