Control Who Can View and Edit Events

Demo:

The Snapshot

You can now choose exactly which staff can view each event, and which staff can edit it. Pick everyone, specific people, certain roles, or house staff — so events, sign-ups and reminders stay with the right team.

What's New

Every event now has two staff settings: who can view it, and who can view and edit it. For each one, you can choose All Staff, Specific Staff, Staff by Role, or House Staff. Staff who can only view can still take rolls and export events. Staff who can edit can update event and pass details, add or remove students, delete events, and send reminders. Anyone you give edit access can automatically view the event too, so you don't need to add them twice. If you limit viewing to certain staff, All Staff is switched off for editing so edit access can never be wider than viewing. Under the new permission model, if you do not specify staff members—including yourself—you will not be able to view or edit the event.

Why It Matters

Not every event needs to be open to every staff member. Now a house event can stay with house staff, and the power to send reminders or delete an event rests only with the people running it. Sign-up lists and event details stay in the hands of the right team, without you having to adjust roles across the whole school.
