Instant Scan Feedback for Check-In

The Snapshot

Automated attendance now gives you instant audio feedback. A quick beep confirms each card scan, and an error sound only plays if something needs attention.

What's New

When a student scans their card, you'll hear a beep right away to confirm the scan worked. If a check-in doesn't go through, you'll hear a distinct error sound. When the check-in succeeds, no extra sound plays.

Why It Matters

A busy check-in line depends on quick, clear signals. The beep tells students (and the staff member watching) that the scan landed, so the next student can step up straight away. The error sound means you only stop the line when something actually needs a second look.

Next Steps

  1. Update the Orah attendance app to the latest version: Android 1.0.32 or iOS 1.0.46

  2. Scan a student card and listen for the beep

  3. Listen for the error sound if a check-in doesn't go through, then follow up with that student
